Our Story as an Anglican Church in Yucaipa
Christ’s Church is rooted in the historic Anglican tradition and devoted to living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a congregation under the province of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), we joyfully walk in faith, tradition, and truth—seeking to worship God with reverence and authenticity.
We affirm the 39 Articles of Religion and the 2019 Book of Common Prayer as vital expressions of our Anglican heritage. These timeless guides shape our worship, doctrine, and daily life as followers of Jesus Christ, helping us grow as a faithful and welcoming Anglican community in Yucaipa.

Diocesan Bishop
The Rt. Rev. Dr. J. Philip Ashey
Bishop Ashey holds an LL.M. in Canon Law from Cardiff University and an M.Div. from General Theological Seminary. Bishop Phil has planted two churches: Christ Church Anglican in South Riding, VA in 2002 and St. Simons Anglican in St. Simons Island, GA in 2021. He served as the COO, then President and CEO of the American Anglican Council from 2008 to the present, now stepping down as CEO and remaining President. Bishop Phil was consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Western Anglicans on March 29, 2025. Our Bishop has a passion for church planting, evangelism, caring for clergy, and the defense of the gospel in a post-Christian context not unlike Daniel and his companions in Babylon. We are excited to see how the Lord directs Bishop Phil as he leads us in further fulfillment of the Great Commandment and Great Commission.
Rector of Christ's Church
Rev. Jason K. Lyon
Fr. Jason serves as rector of Christ’s Church, where he leads with a background shaped by legal and theological training. He received a Juris Doctorate and completed his MTS at Fuller Theological Seminary. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked as a regulatory consultant for several medical device companies. He serves as the chairman for Young Life in Yucaipa, and on the diocesan executive committee, and has spent nine years as a co-parent educator and mediator in the Inland Empire. His experience reflects a consistent commitment to thoughtful leadership, practical wisdom, and service to others.
Our Ministry Teams
Hospitality Team
Our Hospitality Team is the welcoming heart of Christ’s Church. From greeting newcomers to preparing fellowship gatherings, this team helps ensure everyone feels seen, valued, and at home. They embody our commitment to loving one another as Christ has loved us.
Musicians
Our musicians lead the congregation in worship through song, lifting hearts and voices to the Lord. Drawing from both ancient hymns and contemporary praise, they help us enter into God’s presence with joy, reverence, and unity.
Vestry Team
The Vestry is the elected lay leadership of Christ’s Church. They serve alongside our clergy to provide spiritual support, stewardship of resources, and guidance in fulfilling our mission. Each member is committed to prayerfully leading with integrity and faithfulness.
